Jewel Road Kitchen
The client wanted their kitchen to make a big impact, but in a cost-effective and time-efficient way.
This project was in an older house that the clients purchased as their first home. When the clients first moved in, they wanted to do some updates and started with repainting the walls and replacing the light fixtures. They intended to eventually do a complete renovation of the kitchen by removing walls, replacing the cabinets, and adding new quartz countertops. I provided drawings of the kitchen layout to assist with determining the correct quantity of materials, in addition to concept images that were used as a reference when selecting finishes. As time passed, the clients decided against renovating but still wanted to make some economical changes to reflect their original design ideas. I created renderings to present their selection of alternative finishes and fixtures with the existing cabinets. They then painted the cabinets and added new hardware, replaced the countertops with a laminate replicating stone, added new backsplash tile, as well as updated the appliances and plumbing fixtures. The clients also have plans in the future to replace the flooring.
